Mees, I just noticed this statement in your cover text and wanted to see if you’ve read Iain McGilchrist’s neuroscientific research (books: “The Master & His Emissary,” “The Matter with Things,” and “Ways of Attending”) on the left and right hemispheres as your statement aligns with his observations about the Enlightenment:
“this study convinced him that the Enlightenment was in fact an Endarkenment, to alienate us from Nature and the Universe, from which we derive our power to move mountains.”
Yes i am familiar with the left right brain theory, but I think it is more important to look at the metaphysical part, where my main guide was Wolfgang Smith, see chapter B1, where the brain (and in fact everything else) is connected to or an integral part of the spiritual realm.

When you say you are familiar with the left right brain theory, I want to make sure you are specifically aware of McGilchrist’s work, which turns everything that was previously believed about the left/right brain divisions on its head. McGilchrist goes deeply into the spiritual and philosophical dimensions as well within the context of the right hemisphere’s sense of gestalt and transcendence. I recommend “The Master and His Emissary” as a starting point or “Ways of Attending” for a super-short synopsis of that research. “The Matter with Things” is a behemoth, and I have yet to delve into it myself, but McGilchrist just recently published one of the chapters in parts at his Substack:
